Piñata?

Repeat! People are never piñatas!

Found on the Daily News. Don’t hit people, it’s not nice.

But(!) piñatas can be used as lovely little place cards for people.

I love this table setting from the Knotty Bride.

Now a little history on our fun friend the piñata.

(photo from flickr, also linked to source)

The traditional Mexican piñata is a 7 pointed star; the points representing the 7 deadly sins. The colorful and bright fashion of piñatas represent the Devil’s nature to disguise himself  and tempt people thru beauty. The participants represent faith and are blindfolded because the true believer must have blind faith to slay the evil. The tradition is really interesting and you can read more here.

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!!

Oh! And in case you’d like a little history of Cinco De Mayo, which is actually a celebration of the Mexican victory in the Battle of Puebla you can read about that here.
