Wonderful Weekends

Friends, I have a problem with taking pictures in real life. I constantly forget to capture the moment, which kind of bums me out. So this new feature will hopefully get me in a better habit of taking pictures plus I’ll get to share my lovely weekends with you!

This weekend my dad was in town from Vienna, staying with my bro in Queens. So I spent the whole weekend over at the bro’s place for quality time with the 2 most important men in my life.

But before meeting up with my boys I spent Friday night with the girls for a very special engagement celebration.

One of my bestest friends in the whole wide world got engaged!!!!! She reads this lil blog so pardon me for a moment as I tell her: I LOVE YOU, I am so so sooooo happy for you and I know you and H will have a fantastic wedding and I wish you both all the happiness in the world :D. This lovely lady has been on the blog before you can see that post here.

Now back to my boys’ weekend. My bro’s place is such a dude’s pad!

Fun fact!-painting is by me and the skyline piece is by me also made with scraps of magazine paper. The clock I bought for my bro from Miss Malaprop.

My dad had never been to Gantry Plaza State Park which is a tragedy! I know most visitors stick to the island of Manhattan but this park is such a gem I highly recommend stopping by the next time you’re in town.

Yeah, those are hammocks :D.

Flying kites and a hidden quiet place off the path.

And if this place could not be anymore charming there was this beautiful violinist playing for us under the trees.

For dinner we went to Salt and Fat. I don’t really think I can adequately describe how delicious the food is here. I nearly licked the plate.

The food is served tapas style which is my favorite way to eat. I will definitely be returning to Salt and Fat with boyfriend in tow and I highly recommend you checking them out. GET THE SCALLOPS!

Sunday my dad was flying home so we had breakfast in and took him to the airport. My biggest complaint with staying at my bro’s place is he has no coffee!!! So I walked to 7-Eleven to get my probably irrational and unhealthy caffeine fix.

But on the bright side I get to walk my bro’s hood which is definitely visually stimulating. Oh the colors!

Editor’s note: the Pespi Cola sign is actually in Gantry State Park Plaza.

So friends, did you enjoy your weekend?! Have fun things to share?

Aww, how fun! I’m glad you had a great time with your family. The park there looks really beautiful and I love how they randomly have hammocks there for people to use. How unique! “Salt and Fat” sounds good but scary, haha! What is “served tapas style” exactly? I’m quite interested.

Looks like such a fun weekend! I have never been to Gantry Plaza State Park either! I love Queens though! Its such a colorful place and I love the sounds of that area. I used to live across the East river and I could see the Pepsi sign from the end of my street!

A pink ice cream cone? Oh my gosh! That just makes an ice cream even better 🙂
Love this new little feature – I started a similar one myself with the week in photos and it forces me to remember to snap them.

Gosh, I love that park! So idyllic! Hammocks… Makes me wanna take out mine and try to affix it somewhere. 🙂

I have the same problem by the way, I can’t seem to take “documetation” pictures of what happens. I’m good at details and looking around and noticing, but I don’t have pictures of me and friends and family and things we do. I guess I just get lost in the moment. 🙂
