My Vacay in Pictures <3

Hi Friends! I know I’ve been so absent but I’ve had a busy week and long work days after coming back from vacay. Le sigh, I miss being lazy! Honestly my head is still in the palm trees :).

The bf and I went to Miami for a few days just to get away from our lives for a bit. South Beach and Miami is synonymous with party-town U.S.A but this is NOT us and really was not the vacay we had. Our vacation really consisted of 3 things, lol.

Being lazy…. poolside at my cousin’s apartment.

Being lazy…beach side at South Beach.

ASIDE! Thank you bf for being such a good sport!

After literally hours of relaxing on the beach I of course forgot to take pictures! This is so me, sadly…but my honey was kind of enough to traipse back down to the beach so I could take some shots for you :).  He’s the best sometimes, really.

We also visited my family :D.

They have this really impressive jungle of a garden! We posed for pictures with the fountain my mama gifted them the last time she visited.

My uncle is in the process of making this gazebo out of scrap wood!!! He literally has been rummaging piles of wood and piecing this together with logic…lol.

And THEN there was the shopping!! First we hit up two thrift stores for me :).

Out of the Closet is a chain of thift stores in California and Florida run by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation to generate income for their services. They have a mini-pharmacy inside the shop as well as free HIV testing.

I totally bought things that you will see soon :).

The second shop we visited was Angel’s Vintage Boutique.

Angel’s has ah-mazing designer vintage pieces! Really there are so many gems there! Here are some pics from their yelp page. Funny, I actually saw the shop owner taking these while we were there.

After thrifting we headed to South Beach for shopping for the bf. South Beach is like a make-believe place for me. It’s all pastels, palm trees, art-deco and fancy cars.

The little stuffed pizza is a gift bf got for his niece Jinky from the Kid Robot store. I think it’s probably the cutest stuffed anything ever.

We were shocked to find the Commuter Collection at Levi’s, the bf has been dying for the denim jacket so he treated himself to that. The BF also really wanted to visit M.I.A Skate Shop which did not disappoint. The people at M.I.A  are so nice and their selection of local street wear companies is wonderful.

There was also A LOT of good eating on our vacation. Alas, I’m a failure at taking pictures (sad face), but there is one restaurant I really wanted you all to see.

My cousin took us to The Wynwood Kitchen & Bar our first night there and it’s a beautiful space with super yummy food and specialty cocktails. Apparently The Wynwood is in Art Basel central and is decorated by the many graffiti artists who come to visit.

The outdoor space is super fun at The Wynwood.

looks like such a great get-away! I’ve never been to Miami but I’ve always heard it’s a very colorful, cultural city! I would love to visit someday! Your cousin’s apt is stunning, right on the water!

Whyyyyy didn’t you take me with you??? You know that I am tiny enough to fit in one of your suitcases. This looks uber-relaxing and like someplace I could really chill. I’m so glad that you guys had a great time!!!

Ooh, lovely! Being lazy is the best on a vacay. :)))

That thrift shop with the pharmacy and the HIV testing is the best thing. I’d shop there even if I didn’t like the stuff. Such a good idea to help the cause!

I want to go to Miami & South Beach one day!! Planned to go this year with my best friend but the plan didn’t work out 🙁
ah…I was lazy taking pictures during my vacation too!! But everytime before I left the beach I was like “oh! I have to take a picture”…well not only for the blog, but for me as well!!
Glad you had a nice time!

You are so not a failure at taking photos!! I fall into the same trap, I am usually so taken with where I am and what I am seeing that I don’t take any pictures of myself or what we are doing! I am a little kid, my eye gets drawn to bright colors over and over again and I would have died in graffiti central. PS, finally got a post with my tattoo up!
