Sunny Days…

Hi friends. Most of you know that I live in NYC and with that fact I thought it would be hugely remiss to not mention hurricane Irene. Especially since watching the news and fleeing my apartment on the East River were the activities of my weekend.

I can not tell you how hugely relieved I am that Irene dwindled down to a tropical storm that blew past NY with a lot of wind and a lot of rain but not much else. There are downed trees  and definitely some flooding, but for the most part the city is really doing great.

I know that there is still a lot of clean up across the east coast because of Irene and I hope that those effected will be back to normalcy soon.

If you have a crowded pantry because of your hurricane provisions, why not donate to your local food banks!

And lastly thank you so much for the tweets and emails! I really am touched by your thoughtfulness. Hope you are all safe and sound, friends.

Soooooooooo Relieved to hear this! I know how much you love your adorable little home on the east river and as soon as I heard people were being advised to evacuate, I thought of you. I bet its super hot there now, because of all the moisture?

I think it’s a great idea to donate all of the left-over goodies 😉 Glad that the storm was not as strong as expected and that things can start going back to normal. Things like these reminds us that we are all just little “ants” in this big world, and when nature decides to go all nasty, we can’t do much about it except hide away, like all the little animals that hide from us.
