So my cousin who’s on the ground in Tacloban and Cebu is working tirelessly to cover the aftermath of Haiyan in the Philippines as a journalist, she’s worn tired and hasn’t been able to recommend a place to donate but when she does will definitely update.
I did some research on my own and found Convoy of Hope. Convoy of Hope already had programs in place feeding children in Cebu and Manila and were at the ready to respond to Haiyan and they continue to do so.
Transport is something that is serious barrier in aid in the Philippines. The Philippines is an archipelago and it’s just hard to get to the many islands where villages are effected, which is why I chose Convoy of Hope. I think it’s valuable they had operations, volunteers, and resources already in place to help.
