I went to see Bill Cunningham New York at the Film Forum last night. The Documentary is an incredible portrait of the one of a kind street fashion photographer, Bill Cunningham.
I have never seen, heard, or met a person so completely fulfilled by their work and ferociously committed to doing it their way.
Cunningham also seems to have all the good intentions in the world. His demeanor is kind and gentle and his genuine interest in people and their fashion choices and the tender way he presents his subjects really warm my heart.
I read this quote this morning and thought it was so perfect for the morning after Bill Cunningham New York:
“You can never be overdressed or overeducated.”

I would so LOVE to see the Bill Cunningham doco. He is the ORIGINAL street style photographer, and I’ve always loved his shots and commentary. Will have to see if I can find the film online.

i cried 3 (count it…..3 times) in this film. i saw it recently and will prob do a post about it soon. wasn’t it so great? he’s such a dynamic figure. his intentions are so true and so pure. like….i literally am tearing up even writing this. im so glad you wrote about it…it makes me like you even more!
