So when my cousin first came to the U.S. she applied for tickets at The View and 3 years later she receives an email that she finally has her tickets! Since her roommates are no longer available she asked me and my aunt to come along.
In case you’re not familiar with The View: “Created by Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, who both also serve as the show’s executive producers, the program features a panel of women as co-hosts. As of 2011, Whoopi Goldberg moderates discussions while the rest of the panel consists of Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and, part-time, Barbara Walters.” (source Wikipedia).
Whoopie was sadly out sick, but this is what I wore for the ladies at The View.
(denim jacket-thrifted diesel for $10; dress-pinkyotto)
This dress is one of my favorites for 2 reason: 1) I am crazy for the hemline and 2) I own no print cuter than these owls.
Does anyone notice I’m wearing lipstick!? It’s a big deal for me!! I’ve been looking for a shade for ages and also a remedy for my constantly chapping lips and I found both last week thanks to Marissa from the Taste & Style Files for “Kiss Me Coral” by Revlon lead and Vahni from Grit and Glamor for the Carmax tip.
See Marissa in Kiss Me Coral here & read Vahni’s AWESOME tips to wearing lipstick here.
These shoes have the ability to almost go with anything and I’m really loving my nail situation at the moment.
(on nails- green is bettina nail enamel in color 194 and gold is 1 coat orly “luxe” w/ 2 coats of soo “rainbow glitter” on top; shoes-urban outfitters)
Now back to The View. I’ve been to a couple of other tapings and I have to say this might have been the best experience in terms of lines and crowd wranglers and just straight up fun.
That’s right! Dance party on The View set…Oh you bet I danced! No pic of me, because duh I was dancing!
Also a wonderful thing they did at The View was have the hosts come down and take questions from the audience during commercial break, and no qualms about taking pictures off-air which is pretty atypical from my audience experiences.
The guests were Queen Latifah, Lisa Lillien of Hungry Girl, and author of Blind Allegiance Frank Baily. If you’ve heard of Baily it’s because his book has gotten some news coverage. Baily is a former close aide of Sarah Palin and his turn from blind loyalty to hate is apparently pretty remarkable; the book was described as “Scathing” by the Daily Beast. All the interviews were pretty darn interesting, which I was super happy about.
Annnnnnnd! We got stuff!!!
We receive both Bailey’s Book and Lillien’s book 300 Under 300, 300 recipes under 300 calories. I am pretty excited about both books, the bf is borrowing Bailey’s book and I’m going through Lillien’s so I can grab some ingredients at the grocery.
And OF COURSE I’m excited about Macy’s!!! Gawsh! $100 bucks!!! Now friends, I’m a little torn on if spending the gift certificate will constitute breaking my shopping ban, so I think I might actually decide to wait on spending it. UNLESS it expires, then I mean I totally have to ;).
Either way…winning!!
Hahahaha, I realize it’s horizontal, I haven’t figured out vertical gifs yet…but lookie I made it! I love gifs!
