Well hi friends! Did you know that April is National Poetry month? I didn’t until I caught up on my reader (ashamed face). Well, in light of this knowledge I wanted to share a poem by one of my favorite poets, W.S. Merwin. I discovered Merwin’s poetry years ago in my sophomore year of college and his poems still impress me to this day. I really think what Merwin does is fine fine art. He uses few words but somehow it is so poignant and the feelings always linger for me…I remember the first time I read him I thought, my gawsh this is magical.
And now dears here are some reasons I hearted the internet this week.
- Above, did you know that platform shoes date back to the 15th century?!?! I did NOT!
- OMG this years Small Cool Contest on Apartment Therapy is BLOWING MY MIND! The apartments are teeny and then teenier!!
- 8 Free Apps available on iPhones and Androids to help you be a more ethical shopper…pssst I toooootally recommend Thrift Buddy; GoodGuide is a little inconsistent for me and the others are strangers! So I downloaded them promptly.
- So do you own canvas? Like a canvas bag or a pair of shoes? Yeah so do I and I hate it and love it. Buuuut, maybe this will be the answer to all my canvas woes.
- How cool is it that the internet can bring you Jim Henson’s original pitch for The Muppet to CBS from the early 70’s?!?! Answer: sooooo cool!
- Google goes to The White House.
- Do you know what enclothed cognition is? It’s the scientific study of how what you’re wearing affects how you act…interesting, no? This article from the NYT provides more evidence.
- Lastly below, wasn’t I just talking about amazing 2-dimensional design?!?! How rad is this dress!?

Got the scarf in the mail today– what a beauty! It’s very well made, the fabric looks nice and expensive, and the zebras add a lot of fun to it. I also like how long the scarf is, do you have any creative ideas on how to wear it with a white tee and jeans? And thank you again, I am very pleased!
Hi Elena! I’m so happy to hear you love it! Yes, it is really well made and feels incredibly expensive. There are loads of ways to wear scarves, especially with something wonderfully basic as a white tee and jeans.
