Words for Your Week: “No one looks stupid when they’re having fun. “ -Amy Poehler found on A Cup of Jo
Hi friends! I must have ran across this quote a million times in the last two weeks and I think it is a gem :). Always try to have the time of your life and don’t mind who’s watching. Now dears here are some of my most hearted links from last week.
- Above, another HOT HOT list of eco-friendly bikinis.
- Underwater gear for your iphone. Um, I might need to own this.
- The big bad city of New York plays truth or dare.
- Learn to fight fair in your next heated argument.
- A little bit about the true price of fast fashion.
- How to learn a language in 90 days. Ummm, this looks like it might work!
- Lastly, a beautiful blogging friend left for an internship at a fair trade cooperative in Uganda, she’s been sharing her journey in pictures HERE. Below she captures these gorgeous giraffes :).
Have a beautiful beautiful week friends.
RE: Your comment on my summer list: We should watch a movie every week, then comment/tweet about them to each other. Yes?
And: Giraffes are SOOO cute.
AND: I’m going to look at those bikinis now.

YES!!!!! I’ve actually been practicing this since I left that comment. We can take turns picking movie? OMG! YES!!
The post on what happens to donated clothing is really interesting. I donate a lot of used clothing, and buy used clothing, all the time. It never occurred to me that it might be problematic! I always thought was a good thing…

You know Heather, I was really debating sharing that article because I didn’t want people to have that takeaway, I do really believe that donating clothes is still way better than just chucking them into a landfill and I know that this article puts a different spin on that practice. But I did decide to share it because it made me rethink just my in general buying habits and practices and I was inspired to be more mindful of the way I shop because even though donating clothes is great overusing this solution isn’t good either what it’s really about is buying thoughtfully opposed to feeding into the constant turnaround of buying and spending.
Oh, these are great links Jamillah! Wow, I totally just finished reading that fighting fair piece, haha! Loved it! And what an incredible experience for Meredith to have that internship!
As for the true price of clothes – that was a great article. I tend to be a concoction of a “buy old +” type of customer … I buy from secondhand, charity shops and vintage, but also some new at times, and make a lot of my own clothing from recycled pieces. I don’t generally ‘throw out’ pieces, it’s either donating to a shop or to friends/family or turning it into something else. Either way, I agree it’s good to be conscious of what you buy.
Great post! *Miss you dear, hope you are doing great! -xo Sending you summer hugs!/M
No one looks stupid when they’re having fun: I LOVE THIS!!!!
And the giraffes look so cute (and looks like they’re having fun too!) – gotta check out the Uganda adventure!!!
Plus: this thing is soo true, yet we often forget – because 95% of the time we keep thinking about ourselves =) “Realize that the way people interact with you is 95% about them and 5% about you”
